2009 Going Forward

› May 19, 2009

Perhaps you've noticed there has been a lull in our regular or irregular communicado... dependent, obviously, on what you consider to be regular correspondence. In any event - we've locked ourselves in a room (the same room) and are feverishly working on the follow up to IAYBW. As a result we don't foresee ourselves partaking in any live performances in the coming months. Aside from the fact that we're really excited about whats being composed/arranged/re-arranged/recomposed at this point, there's really not much else to say except that what you're currently looking at and what you're hearing will change drastically when we are ready to be a little more active with sharing new data.

Headed to Austin...

› March 09, 2009

Hi everyone, we're looking forward to temporarily abandoning wintery Boston for warmer Austin, TX next week, as we hit SXSW for a Friday night 3/20 showcase for Consequence of Sound. Then we say hello to good friends Caspian with a Saturday night show at the Troy General Store in Troy, TX.

Looking forward to seeing some of you southern friends, and making a few new ones.

Cheers, EE

2008, 2009, SXSW

› February 04, 2009

Before we get into looking back at the previous year, we wanted to let you all know that we’ve been accepted to showcase this year at SXSW in Austin, Tejas. We’ll have more specific info soon, but for now we’ll be in the lone star state sometime between 3/18-3/22 playing Killing Texas to Texans and non-Texans alike!!!

2008 was a good first year - we released our debut album, began writing the next one, we reclaimed our nation from a junta of greedy elitist thieves, and played a number of shows with some old and new friends. We’d like to offer many thanks to you, dearest listeners, who have supported us by coming to our shows, buying our record (or getting it for free – but still listening), giving us bear hugs, talking to us about random human or non-human stuff, etc. In addition many thanks again to our friends Magic Bullet, Mylene Sheath, Black Day Creative, and AAM, who have all been incredibly supportive.

The reviews of I Am Your Bastard Wings continue to be positive as the recent vinyl reviews show:

Beautifully intelligent and effortlessly focused
-MILK MILK LEMONADE

The experience of a decades old group, and the finesse of a hip rock band, with obvious influences ranging from Black Sabbath to Can. An musically intuitive, creative force, with a bright future in their midst; a gem found in a pile of ashes
-DANISH POET

With six people, the orchestral grandness of Eksi Ekso’s debut, IAYBW, sounds like it coming from many more...it is the sweeping nature of the instrumentation, which plays center stage
-QRO MAGAZINE

We now have our webstore up and running here at www.eksiekso.com. We have all our merchandise, CDs, and vinyl available for purchase. We've updated the look of myspace and are now up on facebook too. Friend us here and friend us here.

Work on the follow-up to IAYBW continues and we'll be keeping you posted with progress throughout 2009.

xoxo

December Shows and Penning the New Beast

› December 03, 2008

First off, thank you to all of those who came out to see us in November in Troy, NY, Burlington, VT and Wallingford, CT. It was nice to get out of the home habitat radius; something which we plan to do more of in 2009 (perhaps other continents as well... what? you say - more news to come).

Secondly - we have three shows to end out 2008. Tomorrow night, 12.04.08, in Cambridge at TTs (opening for Sebastian Grainger - ex-Death From Above 1979); Friday night, 12.05.08, in Beverly, MA at Montserrat College of Art, and next Saturday, 12.13.08 at Ralph's in Worcester, MA with Fluttr Effect. These should all be great shows. To get more info check out our shows page.

Finally - we've been busy writing the follow up to IAYBW on and off for the last four months. We have about 10-13 new songs in various phases of development and completion. We're pretty excited about where things are at this point and hope to be in the studio by mid-2009. We're not going to jinx ourselves, as we're a little sensitive to curses in the olde EE camp, but our major goal is to have something new out ASAFP.

Boston Show, Vinyl Release, and fall tour

› September 17, 2008

Hi friends, We've been busy getting things together for the fall. A couple of things are coming up:

1) This Saturday 9/20 we'll be at the Middle East Upstairs as part of the WERS Presents series, featuring Basia Bulat, Eksi Ekso, Mr. Sister, and Goli. Advance tickets are available now online.

2)The 2xLP of I Am Your Bastard Wings is coming out in November. Pre-orders can be placed now through our good friends, The Mylene Sheath. We've seen the previews and it looks amazing.

Spread across two LP's, songs fill up sides A-C and an epic etching is on display across side D. The intense artwork (revised from the CD version) will be spread across two full-color, heavyweight, matte-finished, jacket-stock inner-sleeves housed in a heavy, upgraded, 5mm spine, full-colored, matte-finished jacket. All preorder customers will be entered into a raffle to win a test press of the album with a hand screened jacket! Also worth mentioning is that by preordering you'll save $3 off the purchase price, as due to the scope of this project the regular price will have to be $20, but they're just $17 during the preorder =) There are three different purchase options for this:

-200 copies on translucent orange/black swirl
-600 copies on white vinyl
-or you can purchase both colors at a ridiculously discounted price and save $10!

You can place your order/choose your destiny here.

3) We're headed out on the road in November. Details coming soon!
